Julien Zeitouni, MSW Candidate
Julien Zeitouni (he/him) didn't begin his career in therapy—he began it in storytelling. Before entering the field of social work, he spent nearly three decades in the film industry, immersed in the art of observing human behavior, relationships, and emotional nuance. His work required close attention to what is often left unsaid: the subtle shifts in tone, body language, and connection that can reveal deeper emotional experiences. Over time, this curiosity about people and their inner worlds evolved into a desire to help others better understand themselves and their relationships.
That path eventually led him to psychotherapy, where he brings the same thoughtful and attentive lens to his clinical work. Julien approaches therapy as a collaborative and reflective process. His style is warm, thoughtful, and down-to-earth, creating a space where clients can show up authentically and feel genuinely supported. He works with clients to slow down, deepen self-understanding, and make sense of the emotional and relational patterns that shape how they experience themselves and their relationships.
Originally from France, Julien is bilingual and brings a multicultural perspective to his work. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, he is committed to creating an affirming, inclusive, and culturally responsive space where clients feel respected and understood. Whether you're exploring identity, navigating relationships, or facing a period of uncertainty or change, Julien offers a therapeutic space grounded in curiosity, openness, and nonjudgment.
In his clinical work, Julien is especially interested in psychodynamic therapy and works with individuals and couples navigating relationships, family transitions, identity exploration, parenting, career changes, and periods of uncertainty or growth. He has a particular appreciation for working with artists, creatives, multicultural individuals, and LGBTQ+ clients, recognizing how personal history, culture, and identity shape the way we experience the world and connect with others.
Through his clinical training, Julien has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families in community-based settings. His approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and a deep respect for each person's unique story. He believes therapy works best when it feels like a real, human connection, one where people can make sense of their experiences, better understand themselves and their relationships, and approach life's challenges with greater compassion and curiosity.
Julien is currently completing his Master of Social Work (MSW) at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College.
